Scotland flanker Hamish Watson was ruled out due to a knee injury of the remainder of the Rugby World Cup.
The 27-year-old back-row is going to likely be replaced in the group from Edinburgh club-mate Magnus Bradbury.
Watson fell shortly after being removed out of a ruck and left the field on a stretcher just before half-time.
Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend stated:”We feel for Hamish, who’d worked so hard for this opportunity.”
A scan following that the harm was confirmed by the game to the knee was important to imply Watson will play no further part in the tournament.
“While there is a high probability of picking up injuries during a World Cup, it’s always disappointing to see someone needing to go home,” Townsend added.
Bradbury is already in Japan, with went as precautionary injury cover Jamie Ritchie, that missed the opening match with a facial injury.
Ritchie is predicted to be fit to face Samoa in Scotland’s second class game next Monday (11:15 BST).

Having missed the entire Six Nations this past year with a broken hand, Watson is currently out of the World Cup. To call it there would be a devastation to put it somewhat.
Watson’s appearance on the scene came a fraction too late for inclusion from the squad of Vern Cotter . Now he’s gone early in Japan.
The brutal character of football means there is no promise that Watson will nonetheless be in France in his pomp in just four years’ time. He will be 31 going then.
It’s a cruel havoc the sort of sporty personality that Townsend desperately wants in the wake of such an awful night against Ireland, on a player.
The flanker brings aggression with ball in hand and scavenging qualities in the breakdown. Scotland are currently crying out for a lot of him, less of him. He’s among the best open-side flankers around and will be crucial in the difficult weeks ahead.
Finn Russell is the most participant in this Scotland group, but Watson is probably second on this list. Townsend doesn’t have anybody else like him. For player and coach, this can be a calamity.
