Washington Nationals vs St. Louis Cardinals MLB Pick – September 16th

The MLB is set up using a more quiet night of baseball as night eight matches are all set to go on Monday. Among the games up on the plank will be between the Washington Nationals and the St. Louis Cardinals. Both of these teams are in the thick of the playoff hunt, which ought to result in a fantastic game. This match will start at approximately 7:45 PM Eastern time.
The Nationals have earned the spot in the NL East with a record of 82-66 during this year. Washington has struggled a bit during their slate of games. The Nationals will look to win their second and managed to acquire the astonishing one against the Braves on Sunday.
St. Louis has gone 83-66 thus much this year, which includes them at the top spot of the NL Central. The Cardinals have two game lead to the Chicago Cubs along with a 3 game cause the Milwaukee Brewers. St. Louis has gone 4-4 in their last eight games and will try to try and build up a winning series with a big home win to open up this set.
The Nationals and the Cardinals are both sitting in playoff spots but will have to continue to finish the year strong if they want to remain there. Both groups have struggled a bit as of late, however I think because we enter the last few weeks of the season they will pick up their play. This show is critical for both groups.
The very first series between both of these teams had been in Washington between May 2 and April 29. The Nationals got the game began first with three runs in the inning. St. Louis earned six runs at the top of the fifth inning to take the lead. As he allowed four hits and three runs through five innings as the Cardinals won 6-3 michael Wacha got the win on the mound.
Washington needed a solid beginning to the second game also. Victor Robles and adam Eaton hit back to back solo homers. Kolten Wong had an RBI single to Find the Cardinals. Right then, Harrison Bader had a two RBI single to help give St. Louis the lead. Adam Wainwright pitched six and a third innings and allowed six hits and two runs as the Cardinals won 3-2.
Marcell Ozuna and Jose Martinez’d RBI’s at the very top of the first inning to assist St. Louis get the very first lead for the very first time in the series. Yadier Molina and Harrison Bader had RBI’s later in the game to help ice hockey to the Cardinals. Miles Mikolas allowed seven hits and one run through six innings as St. Louis took a 3-0 lead in the series with a 5-1 win.
The fourth and last match of this series was once more a great one. Kolten Wong got it started for St. Louis, but this time it had been the Nationals who slipped backagain. Brian Dozier and yan Gomes had RBI’s at the fourth inning. Stephen Strasburg got the win as he allowed six hits and one run as Washington finished the show.
Anthony Rendon has just ever had a strong season up to now. 167 hits have been earned by him. Juan Soto has set up 148 hits, 34 home runs and 105 RBI’s. Adam Eaton includes 146 hits, 14 home runs and 46 RBI’s. Victor Robles and trea Turner equally have over 120 strikes and 10 home runs. Kurt Suzuki, Brian Dozier, howie Kendrick, Matt Adams, and Yan Gomes have double handed homers well.
Paul Goldschmidt has put a stat line of 142 hits, 31 home runs and 89 RBI’s up. Kolten Wong has made 11 homers hits and 59 RBI’s. Although Marcell Ozuna includes 109 hits, 27 homers and 82 RBI’s paul DeJong has put up 129 strikes, 26 home runs and 72 RBI’s. Matt Carpenter, dexter Fowler, Jose Martinez, along with Matt Wieters have home run totals.
These two teams have set up hitting lineups that were during this year. I feel that these two lineups match up fairly well with each other. The Nationals have set up more runs than St. Louis, but the Cardinals have allowed less runs. How these teams meet up should help lead night.
Stephen Strasburg will be the starting pitcher for the Nationals on Monday night. Strasburg has gone. In those starts, he’s got an ERA of 3.49 and a WHIP of 1.047. Strasburg start came against the Minnesota Twins, where he allowed four hits and two runs through six innings since he made another triumph.
Dakota Hudson will begin on the mound for St. Louis in this matchup. Hudson has gone. He has posted an ERA of 3.38 and a 1.409 WHIP. Hudson’s last start came from the Colorado Rockies. He allowed four hits and 2 runs throughout six innings because he took a loss to end a five game winning streak he was going on.
Both of these pitchers have put up stat lines this season. Strasburg has a record throughout his matches played this year, but Hudson has a slightly better ERA. I expect both pitchers to post a night as both hitting lineups in bay try and keep to have the leg up .
I believe that Washington and St. Louis will find up their intensity within this show as they try to maintain a stranglehold on their existing playoff position. The Cardinals were able to acquire the show on the road and I think that they will start this series out . St. Louis is coming off back to back losses to the Milwaukee Brewers and that I think they will come out fast to look to rebound .
BetOnline has the Nationals listed as a -135 against the money line. This means that Washington will win this match around 57.5% of the time. I think that using two pitchers starting on the mound, the cash line should be closer to even. This offers the Cardinals, making them the pick of the night a lot of value.
