Tom George has been currently plotting a transition to novice pursuing for 2 of his stable celebrities.
Black Friday, winner of the 2018 Mersey Novices Hurdle, initially put on a pursuing campaign last season, but reverted back after two beaten efforts into the hurdles.
The eight-year-old followed up with a different third-placed ending in the Grade Two and finished a creditable third on his debut over fences at Exeter Dipper Novices Chase at Cheltenham.
Then he spent the remainder of the season finishing fourth and third from the Cleeve and Select Hurdles – in addition to some 12th-place finish in the Stayers Hurdle at the Festival.
George now intends to reevaluate his original plan, confirming that this autumn, Black Op will return to run over fences.
Hes good, hes in shape, George said.
He has been schooling well and hes not far away a jog. There is a strong chance he will run at (proprietor ) Roger Brookhouses neighborhood course, which will be Stratford, at a two-and-a-half-mile novice chase.
He will definitely be moving over fences, he added.
Things went against him a bit last year – the floor was too firm and we couldnt really get out him. So were starting from scratch this season and we are going to come across a low-key race.
Hes been schooling using Henrietta Knight and everybody is quite happy with him
Brookhouse is a owner for George, with 2018 Supreme Novices Hurdle winner Summerville Boy in his care.
The seven-year-old has not registered a victory since that Cheltenham performance, this past year fighting in a few Graded races.
His season ended at Punchestown, where he was behind the Buveur dAir of Nicky Henderson in the Punchestown Champion Hurdle.
Everything went wrong last season actually, stated the Slad-based coach.
He was just defeated six lengths by Buveur DAir at Punchestown, though.
He has been education over fences and certainly will go newcomer chasing.
Hes close enough prepared, hes always jumped a fence better than he leaps a hurdle since he has more respect for them. Hell go for a two-mile novice chase.
