Tyson Fury was “very lucky” to avoid a shock defeat against Otto Wallin, says Eddie Hearn.

Tyson Fury was”very lucky” to avoid a shock defeat Otto Wallin after enduring a cut that could jeopardise his February rematch using Deontay Wilder, states Eddie Hearn.
The former world champion of britain battled win over Wallin weekend, even though maintaining a wound at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas over his right eye at the third round.
But Hearn believes Fury was lucky as the referee ruled the cut was caused by a punch, to prevent a stoppage reduction, along with the Matchroom Boxing boss asked whether the heavyweight can recover in time to an expected fight with WBC champion Wilder.
“I haven’t seen itbecause I was on a plane, but I developed and assessed my social media and watched that the scores and watched that the clip ,” Hearn told Sky Sports. “I think firstly he is very lucky not to get rid of the struggle with that cut.
“I think any other nation on earth, they’d have stopped the fight. I only think in these struggles against that resistance sometimes you don’t end up motivated to perform and obviously he didn’t perform in his best, but he had the trauma also and I believe that you’ll see him perform a great deal better against the likes of Wilder and things like that.
“I don’t know how long he is going to be outside for. I really don’t think he will be ready for his February fight, but I don’t believe so it may work in their own favor, Wilder will be prepared for the February fight either. I anticipate a different Tyson Fury from Wilder, if that rematch gets left.”
Anthony Joshua will try to reclaim his world titles at a rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr on December 7, now live on Sky Sports Box Office, and Hearn still hopes his fighter might take later on on Fury or Wilder.
“Joshua’s fight dates have always been exceptionally solid and also this one, December 7, Saudi Arabia, that’s what we concentrate on,” he said.
“I hope that Wilder-Fury does get made – it’s a great struggle for the division. Two fighters and that I hope that AJ can perform the products in Saudi Arabia and hopefully move on and fight with the winner, but right now, all of the talking about fights is out the window. Only pure focus on Andy Ruiz.”
