Team news, predictions and key stats ahead of Norwich vs Manchester City in the Premier League
Norwich have been struck by a string of injury cases ahead of the visit of champions Manchester City. Full-back Max Aarons (ankle) is place to get a spell out after accident on international duty with England U21s, while fellow miniature Lions defender Ben Godfrey will be assessed to a groin issue.
Goalkeeper Tim Krul (elbow) is also doubtful and on-loan Town winger Patrick Roberts isn’t qualified to confront his parent club. Midfielders Mario Vrancic and Moritz Leitner (both elbows ) are sidelined, combined with Tom Trybull (foot ), while captain Christoph Zimmermann (foot), shield Timm Klose and winger Onel Hernandez (both knee) all carry on their own rehab.
City defender John Stones is inserted to return following a thigh injury. He’ll choose the place of Aymeric Laporte, who has been ruled out for five to six weeks after undergoing knee surgery. Striker Gabriel Jesus (thigh) is back in contention and midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has beat a tummy bug but Benjamin Mendy (knee) isn’t yet ready to reunite and winger Leroy Sane (knee) is extended long term.

You have no reason to check at the concerns of Man City and worry, apart from the injury to Aymeric Laporte possibly. Norwich are good going forward – everybody is talking about Teemu Pukki but Todd Cantwell has begun great also. They won’t be doing this against City, although the full-backs like to have high. The Norwich defenders will be rash against Pep Guardiola’s side. Tells something to you.
Daniel Farke doesn’t embrace a plan B, which I re – . If you ask 90 percent of Norwich fans right now if they’d take a 4-1 hammering seeking to start up the game, or whether they’d rather lose 1-0 rather than have a shot on target, I think that they would go for the former. They need to go at it by a positive part, and that’s the way you test yourself although it is not an embarrassment. As was Raheem Sterling over the international break, which is the reason why I’ll go with this scoreline, kevin De Bruyne was wonderful in Glasgow.
CHARLIE PREDICTS: 2-6 (66/1 with Sky Bet)
