The program makers did not do exactly the Winnipeg Jets any favours. Following a 5-4 loss against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden, the Jets will be back out to the ice for a Friday night matchup against the New Jersey Devils. It is not a trip and it is only the second game of the season, hence the Jets should not feel overly tired or dizzy up.
It is far much better to find the games from the way before going through the gauntlet of a long season. In any case, the Jets are the only team to have a back pack to open the entire year. Some groups will only be creating their debut tonight, while the Jets are already playing their second game of the regular season.
It was a good attempt in the Rangers zone last night, but lackluster in their own. Because he was beat for five goals on 31 shots connor Hellebuyck appeared bad. Hellebuyck wrapped the night up with a Terrible 0.839 save percentage and 5.07 GAA.
That is not the start the Jets looked for from Hellebuyck. The Jets are probably not going anywhere special in the 2019-20 effort, if he doesnt revert back to the season he had in 2017. The Jetsnt made it, without Hellebuyck playing gaudy then. They are also without Jacob Trouba this year, so that is likely to put more strain on the guy between the pipes.
The New Jersey Devils have high hopes to get their season after obtaining P.K. Subban. Before heading into the Devils in a transaction with the 21, subban spent seven years in Montreal and three in Nashville. The coveted prospect in the latest draft, jack Hughes, dropped into the lap of the Devils to bring a possible superstar. The Winnipeg offence could hold their heads high after the loss last night. Despite failing to find a win out of this meeting together with the Rangers, the offence peppered Henrik Lundqvist with 47 shots. Lundqvist may have allowed 4 goals, but he kept the Rangers.
If Hellebuyck cant help out in the crease its going to be a long year. He no longer has Trouba, or so the help defensively is not going to be much better than last season by any other means. Trouba added insult to injury by burying a target.
Do not discount the chance of the Jets if Hellebuyck battles visiting Laurent Brossoit because their netminder. Brossoit was solid as the backup in 2018-19. He posted a 2.52 GAA and 0.925 save percentage with a list of 13-6-2. The Jets havent named a starter, but it wouldnt be surprise to watch Brossoit between the pipes. If thats the situation, he was good on the road. He owned a 2.75 GAA and 0.909 save percentage on the road last season.
The Devils are predicted to proceed with Cory Schneider in web. They are depending bouncing back after going off the rails at times a year. He ended with a GAA over 3.00 for first time in his career and was close to watching his save percentage drop below 0.90. Injuries were part for Schneider of it. He began just 23 games the past couple of years after playing in 40 and 60.
Subban into the lines accession must provide Schneider with some relief. New Jersey were needing a blue liner plus they obtained their wise. Along with improvements to this defence, the Devils needs to be powerful with Kyle Palmieri, Taylor Hall, along with Nico Hischier.
Keep an eye. I am anticipating the 20-year-old to have a breakout campaign for the Devils. This group should give a Jets staff tonight. In regards to the playoffs, the drama of Jack Hughes is going to function as x-factor. He lives up to expectations as a newcomer as well as the Devils could creep in.
