Ireland vs Wales
International
2:00pm Saturday 7th September
Aviva Stadium, Dublin
Ireland moved to No 1 in the world rugby positions on Saturday after a victory over Wales at the Aviva Stadium in their World Cup Test.
In head coach Joe Schmidt and captain Best Dublin Test, attempts from Rob Kearney, tighthead second row James Ryan and Tadhg Furlong, plus two conversions out of Johnny Sexton got Ireland the win, with their outstanding display particularly impressive.
A try by penalty from Leigh Halfpenny and Wales center Hadleigh Parkes had given a first-half 10-7 lead to Wales, but they reacted to their third defeat from four pre-World Cup Tests.
Ireland next play Scotland on Sunday, September 22 in their Rugby World Cup opener in Japan, while Wales face Georgia in their very first game every day later on Monday, September 23.
