This month, siskin will run at the Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket as Opposed to the Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes at the Curragh.
The Khalid Abdullah-owned Siskin is unbeaten most recently supplying his coach Ger Lyons using a first Group One success in Ireland last month, when landing the Phoenix Stakes.
Relations have chosen to continue to keep their powder dry for the Middle Park a race sponsored by his owner, although he was a potential to lock horns with Charlie Appleby’s 2000 Guineas Pinatubo on the second day of Irish Champions Weekend.
Abdullah’s racing director Teddy Grimthorpe said:”In the back of our heads the Middle Park was always the race we were looking at most of all.
“We just feel he’s better suited sticking to six furlongs at this phase.”
Off the trunk of Siskin’s absence, Paddy Power create Pinatubo their 1-2 favorite at 11-4, together with the Aidan O’Brien-trained Futurity Stakes winner Armory for its National Stakes.
