Sheffield Wednesday forward Fernando Forestieri has failed in his appeal to create a six-game FA ban for using”abusive” language in a friendly match against Mansfield.
Forestieri was discovered to have used”abusive and/or insulting” words which comprised an”aggravated breach” as they”included reference to ethnic origin and/or colour and/or race” from the match on July 24, 2018.
Mansfield defender Krystian Pearce promised he discovered racist remarks throughout the match in the One Phone Arena of Mansfield however Forestieri moved at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court to trial and was found not guilty of racially abusing Pearce at March.
On the other hand, the FA deemed there was sufficient evidence to charge Forestieri with breaching FA Rule E3(two ) and in June that he had been banned for six matches, pared #25,000 and cautioned as to his future conduct.
The FA have declared the ban, and will begin with immediate effect although forestieri appealed against the decision.
The suspension rules him out of upcoming Championship games although he will miss the Carabao Cup second-round tie against Everton on September 24.
Sheffield Wednesday state they are”extremely disappointed” with the conclusion of this FA’s Appeal Board.
A club statement read:”Sheffield Wednesday admit the conclusion of this regulatory appeal panel.
“We further acknowledge that Fernando Forestieri is going to be inaccessible for another six first-team fixtures.
“The club and the participant are very disappointed with the findings of this commission when Fernando was acquitted regarding the exact same event in a court of law earlier this season.”
