Two Liverpool fans are attacked in Naples ahead of the Reds’ Champions League fixture from Napoli, based on Merseyside Police.
There were issues with fan violence before the game, although liverpool will begin their Champions League defence on Tuesday night in Italy.
Merseyside Police have confirmed two men were injured in an attack but, after treatment, managed to attend the game.
The police statement :”At approximately 6pm local time (5pm GMT), it had been reported a variety of men on scooters approached the fans at a pub in town before assaulting them.
“Two men from the UK, dated 26 and 46, continued shallow cuts and grazes to the mind and have been treated at the scene before continuing to attend the match.
“Local police know and Merseyside Police are working with authorities coworkers in Naples to aid in the policing of the Champions League fixture.”
