Main Event: Jon Jones (-285) vs. Alexander Gustafsson (+225)
The last time Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson confronted, roughly a year-and-a-half ago, it was the former that emerged with the win. Though many believed Gustafsson could have had him, the judges granted Jones a unanimous victory.
The chances last time around, however, were even more in favor of Jones, with Gustafsson putting everywhere between +800 and +1000 lines. That they are so close this time around speaks to how well he cried in the very first assembly, while also nodding towards just how much he’s improved his fast-twitch endurance.
Even so, Jones, who has not fought 17 months, has largely dominated everybody he’s come around in the Octagon. This fight should take more gasoline than he’s used to consuming up, but he should still pull it out and win the light heavyweight belt.
